Until July 25th, enroll for $95 in my virtual bootcamp, distributed data patterns in a microservice architecture

I am very excited to announce that the MEAP (Manning Early Access Program) for the second edition of my book, Microservices Patterns, is now available! It’s something I’ve been working on for quite some time, and pleased that I can finally share it with you.

The second edition is a substantial update that reflects what I’ve learned while working with customers and conversations with the community since the first edition was published in 2018.

There’s a much sharper focus on fast flow — the continuous delivery of a stream of small changes and rapid feedback on each one - as the primary motivation for adopting microservices and the fast flow success triangle: DevOps, Team Topologies, and the microservice architecture.

The second edition also emphasizes the importance of architectural fundamentals - including the multi-dimensional nature of architecture - which are essential for understanding what the microservice architecture is, when to use it, and how to apply it effectively.

Finally, I have significantly expanded the coverage of architectural decision-making techniques including deliberative design and the dark energy/dark matter forces, that help decide between a microservice architecture and monolith architecture; and design and evolve a microservice architecture.

There’s a lot more to do, of course. I hope you will find my book useful, and I look forward to your feedback as I continue to write the book.
